Caitlyn Phu is an LA-based Asian American director and screenwriter who has been actively creating since the first time she found out that becoming a doctor requires at least eight years of college.

She first realized her passion for directing when she was accepted into the Academy of the Performing Arts’ Film/Live TV program the summer before high school freshman year. Since then, she has directed, written, and edited a number of award-winning short films, music videos, and editorials. In 2019, she was named the ‘Orange County Artist of the Year’ and a ‘Film Independent Future Filmmaker’. Additionally, her work has been featured in a number of publications, including the OC Register, The Los Angeles Times, the Film Independent blog, and more.

She recently graduated from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts studying Television Writing and Production and has worked for Women in Film, Skydance Media, Local Time, and 3AD.
